Some statistics say that 9 out of 20 people are losers at online poker games, which means that you have a slightly greater chance of being a winner than a loser. But can you really make a living gambling online? Of course there are other games you can play but generally the accepted wisdom is that poker and blackjack are the games where some skill is involved in making a win, and you’re not purely relying on chance.

There are various methods that have been shown to work on other games with varying degrees of success, for example the Hawks method for Roulette. However, any professional gambler will research the game they want to play, the odds for the game they are playing, and will be aware of how much they stand to gain and lose at any stage of play. If you feel that you fulfill these criteria then maybe it is worth a go for you. If not, then stay away from thinking that online gambling is an easy way to make money.

There are software programs available that will help you analyse your poker skills and offer advice about strategies for different combinations of hands. If you are given a hand and asked to choose your next move the software can offer advice about what you should have done instead, which helps you to learn the best strategies over time. In general, software programs can help you learn ways to maximise your potential profit, however, don’t forget, while there is some skill in the game there is also a lot of luck and no matter how skilful you are you still rely on the luck of the draw when it comes to the cards.

Whatever you choose to do keep an open mind when reading statistics about winners and losers, chances are that the stats don’t tell you how many of the people included in their stats were professional players, or how much was won or lost, so use your own judgment when it comes to reading these sort of statistics and look further behind the basic numbers. Any casino site suggesting that you might like to try making a living from gambling is probably not going to give you the full picture about any statistics they offer.

Making a living at poker is not an easy thing to do, but if you are experienced at the game and can cope with the risk of not making enough then it can be an enjoyable and potentially rewarding way of working.

Currently there are several ways in which you can deposit and collect your money from online gambling payouts. Due to systems that weren’t always completely secure or reliable in the past some gamblers were put off using some sites. Fortunately things have improved dramatically, however there are a few things to be aware of: some companies require all of your personal information in order for you access their services, whereas others only require a valid email address; another consideration is the speed of transfer, and any transfer fee based on the payment method you choose.

There are standard methods for receiving gambling payouts such as Visa, Master Card and wire transfer. However, there are a couple of other options for instance NeTeller, Moneybookers, Firepay and Click2pay. Each method has advantages and disadvantages for customers who use them. NeTeller is one of the favorite payment methods in the gaming industry. Even though personal and financial information is required to access this form of money transfer it is securely protected and once you have successfully gained access you can transfer your funds in a quick and secure environment.

Another system used for online gambling payouts is Moneybookers, which is generally favoured by the Europeans. Moneybookers supports casino deposits for more than twenty different currencies and each time a new client makes their first deposit they receive a $25 bonus. The majority of online casinos though recommend Firepay, this is one of the most reliable companies for players. They provide a safe and dependable way of banking online. If you decide on Firepay, then you would get instant deposits, real-time access to funds and detailed online statements. However, the majority of individuals choose Click2pay, which has a variety of bonuses, when used in certain online casinos, and is a trustworthy environment to store your personal and financial information.

Online gambling rules are simple and once understood, you can begin playing games and betting from the comfort of your own home. The single most important rule you need to remember is: only gamble what you can afford to lose.

Secondly, to be able to play online you must be at least eighteen years of age. Apart from these two rules, you will generally find that each gambling site will have its own variations on how you place a bet, how money can be withdrawn, and how much you need to bet in order to receive bonuses etc. Whilst the format tends to be fairly standardized across different gambling sites it is always worth checking for the specific site you use.

Some gambling sites insist that you download their software, for which the compatibility of your computer is important because it determines the efficiency and speed of the software that is to be downloaded.

If you want to bet or gamble with real money then setting up an account is mandatory and the method of payment may differ according to the casino, site, or country from which you gamble. Of course, you can also play for free on many sites and you won’t need to set up an account to do this.

There is a wide variety of sign up bonus and first deposit bonus offers available for anyone wanting to join those already making the most of online casinos, and if you really enjoy playing you can sign up to take advantage of as many offers and bonuses as you like!

The gaming industry is constantly expanding and people are more inclined to play online because of the many advantages that the online casino and gambling industry provides.

The simplest way to find the best gambling site is to take a look at a few reviews and make your choice based on the ratings given. Reviews look out for things like where the casino is licensed, what software is used, is the software trusted and reliable, are there fair betting requirements, is there a good selection of games and are the payout percentages fair? Once they have assessed these criteria they then give a score or rating.

The best online casinos will be the ones that offer a choice of games, give good odds and handle your details securely, so make sure you check out the following before deciding whether to play:

- Check the policy for transferring payouts to your bank account – some sites only allow you to make one transfer in any 24 hour period, meaning that you leave more money in your account that you would ideally like and you are then more likely to be tempted to play with it.

- Choose a site with excellent security - You can easily identify a secured site because the prefix of its log in address will start with https and not a simple http. The added letter "s" means that the particular gambling site has a verified and updated site security certificate

- Is there a wide range of games available - It is best if an online casino can offer different varieties of 1, 3, and 5 liner slots. There should also be progressive slots and video poker. It should also offer several varieties of table games so you can learn end enjoy different casino games. Other gambling sites should offer a choice too; these can be different types of bingo, lots of different sports available to bet on, or lots of variations of poker games available.

- Look out for the Payout Percentage - A casino with a higher payout percentage is best because you have more chances of winning at its games. The best gambling sites today can offer up to 98 percent payout percentage for their slots machines. This means you have a higher chance of winning in these games so you can get more profit from your online gambling.

- Multiple Payment Options - The best sites should offer other methods such as debit and credit card payment, wire transfer, and other methods of electronic money transfer.

And remember, if you are playing on a shared or public computer you may wish to choose a no-download required version, if you are concerned that others would find the casino software. Otherwise download versions are safe, reliable and the games tend to offer better graphics and sound options.

Online casinos offer a huge variety of games, from slots to card games, roulette to craps and other dice-based games, so there is almost endless variety to keep you interested and they offer a great way of learning new games, especially as you can play for free on many sites.

Online casino games give you all the thrills and excitement of playing Blackjack, Roulette or Slots in a real life casino in Las Vegas and Macau, and you get the benefit of doing it all from the comfort of your own home, without the hassle and expense of travel, dressing appropriately and tipping the dealers.

With the introduction of online casinos on the internet, millions of people all across the globe have started gaining interest in having a go at casino games, whether for fun or to win real money. Internet searches for online casinos have increased dramatically and have shown that sites offering rewards and bonuses, as well as cash prizes to the top players get a lot of hits. Online Poker seems to have become especially popular these days, with the advent of widespread Broadband internet access and applications on smart mobile phones.

There are plenty of sites offering online games for free and for real money and you can choose from a variety of games such as Poker, Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette and Slot machines and you can be sure that many are spyware and adware free, as the promoters of online casinos find that this reduces the number of people willing to play on their sites. You can access and download casino games twenty four hours a day, any day of the year so you can play any time you like, just by logging in to your computer.

Any professional gambler worth their salt will research the game they want to play, the odds, and will be aware of how much they stand to gain and lose at any stage of play. If you feel that you fulfil these criteria then maybe it is worth a go for you. If not, then stay away from thinking this is an easy way to make money.

The pre-cursor to the online slots, the one-armed bandit, was invented by Charles Fey and was an instant success. Initially based on three reels with the four different card suits these machines were later developed to show different types of fruit. With the advent of online casinos and fast, effective software that allowed good graphics the world of slots moved online, giving players the chance to click a mouse instead of pulling a lever or pressing a button on a slot machine.

They are the most popular game online and at land-based casinos and are simple to play, no rules or strategy knowledge required, and if you play on your computer you’ll get even better odds than you would at the land-based casinos (up to 98% payout compared to up to 90%). There is a huge variety of slots games to be played, many from the one casino site, including 3 reel slot machines, 5 reel machines with typically 9 – 15 payout lines, bonus slot games, and even progressive jackpots where the prizes can be astronomical.

The development of faster software and fantastic graphics gives online slots a great feel and allows a number of winning line combinations keeping even the seasoned player interested and looking forward to the next big payout. If you think you can’t beat the sound of money chinking as it is paid out by a real machine, then don’t worry, the software replicate this sound for you so you’ll get the full satisfaction of a winning spin.
And if you don’t want to risk any real money you can even play online slots for free! Now I’m sure Charles Fey didn’t foresee the day that his invention could be played for fun from the comfort of home, without costing the player a single cent!

Over the last fifteen years gambling has seen some major changes when it comes to the online world. You no longer have to venture out to find a place to bet, you can just log on to any of a number of sites from home at any time you like and you’ll find a site to being wagering.

Online licensing began back in 1994, when the Antigua-Barbuda Government passed the Free Trade and Processing Zone Act, allowing online casinos and sports book to operate. Software companies began to emerge and develop ever more sophisticated graphics to allow more and more realistic game play.

The next few years saw more software developers entering the market and significant development in the speed, graphics and functionality of software; InterCasino went live during 1996, with a claim that it was the first in history to accept real money wagers.

Chat and multi-player functions began to be included during 1999, giving players at the same game a chance to chat to each other and gave the world of online gambling sites a much more social feel. Many casinos now offer this as the importance of the social element was not underestimated and has added to the appeal of playing online. As many more adults become used to using computers for communication chat functions on any sites are now becoming an absolute requirement as opposed to an additional feature.

Legislation relating to the world of online gambling has constantly evolved in recent history, with very recent changes in the United States of America, where the Senate passed the Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006. These changes resulted in huge numbers of major players pulling out of the US market, however the British Parliament conducted a review to determine if the increased opportunity to bet had lead to increased numbers of players and found no significant correlation, and subsequently signed off on the Gambling Act.

Online Gambling describes a wide range of games of chance played on the internet. There are plenty of ways that you can gamble online, including playing bingo, all kinds of casino games, as well as trying your hand at poker and sports betting.

Many sites offer the opportunity to play for free by gambling with points or ‘pretend money’ donated by the casino and whether you win or lose doesn’t matter as you can’t withdraw any winnings and you don’t pay back any losses. The free games give players a chance to understand the rules and strategy of a particular game at no risk and then if the player chooses to play for real money it is a simple matter to switch from the free environment to the real one.

There are several areas for which online gambling is criticised, including making it easier, faster, and more secretive to gamble, therefore potentially encouraging gambling addiction. Another area of concern is that of money laundering. Some people believe that online gambling allows criminal groups to launder large amounts of money; however others believe that the electronic trail left by this form of money movement would preclude laundering activities.
Gambling sites will require you to set up an account with them should you wish to play for real, where you can deposit money (and in many cases receive bonus amounts on top of your first deposit). This money is then used for placing bets and any winnings are credited to your account. Money can be transferred into and out of your online accounts subject to any restrictions placed by the site. You can also pay direct through your debit or credit card, as well as through fund-transfer sites such as Neteller and Moneybookers (although some sites refuse service to US residents).

If you are interested in placing bets online at any one of the places mentioned above you should always consider whether or not you can afford to lose the money with which you are gambling. The golden rule is: never gamble with money you can’t afford to lose.

Online Gambling Institutions not Afraid of UIGEA this time Around

The current situation with the return in force of the UIGEA has had many analysts in the online gambling industry worried about what might come of it. After all, with the return of many of the online gambling institutions to the United States market, the online gambling industry has been exploding to the point where it is now one of the safest places for a person to put their money. Online gambling institutions however may face a repeat of the problems of 2006 in terms of being ejected from the US market if the federal government has anything to say about what transpires.

While some people would look at this as being a repeat of the dreaded 2006, it seems as though the online gambling institutions are not amongst the doomsayers this time around. In 2006 they were at the top of the list of people panicking and indeed many of them were on the verge of bankruptcy because well over 90% of their clients had been based inside the United States of America. In 2008 however the prospect of a second round of UIGEA crackdowns in 2009 does not seem to have the same tone of doom on the online gambling institutions many of which were the ones sounding the alarm in 2006.

“Online gambling has learned its lesson from 2006,” stated a representative for a major online gambling corporation that asked to remain anonymous. “In point of fact it appears as though the federal government thinks it has more teeth than it actually does. After the 2006 shutdown of the online gambling industry in the United States, most of the smart online gambling institutions decided that it was time to start fighting back. They fought back in the only way they knew how to and that was to bring online gambling to the other parts of the world. The result is that the online gambling corporations of the world today that could be affected severely by another round of UIGEA shutdowns are also the same corporations that have diversified their player base and become truly international organizations. Even if they lose their entire US base, there won’t be a single major online gambling company that suffers anywhere near as much as they might have in 2006.”

There is no way to know if the particular feeling inferred by the above quote is widespread across the entire online gambling industry, but if it is then it is quite easy to see that the online gambling institutions of the world no longer have reason to fear the government of the United States. If the government wants to crackdown on companies and force all online gambling to become illegal, the only people they will really be hurting are their own citizens that are interested in playing at various online gambling revenues. Far from being the encourager of free market industries that it has been historically, it appears as though the modern United States government has become irrelevant at least as far as online gambling is concerned
