The results of the first Quarter of 2012 of the internet gambling market of France have been released by ARJEL. The numbers showed positive growth for the sport betting and horseracing sectors. The data that the ARJEL used to make and calculate such reports came from the licensed and regulated sport betting and internet gambling operators who offer their services within the French market. And the numbers only took the active players into consideration, and by active players it means players who have played at least one game during the first quarter of 2012.
Here follows some of the numbers of that record:
For online poker, the records show that the average number of players was 327 thousand per week, and the revenue from cash games were equal 1.6 billion Euros. As for the activity of tournaments, it has seen an increase of 26 % in entries. As for the total net revenue of poker operators, it has decreased by 3 %.
For sports wagering, it has shows a significant increase, as it increased by a total of 14 %, this increase has been noticed in all of the sports, excluding tennis. The total revenue of the sport wagering operators has seen an increase of 7 %. As for the attendance for each week, it reached 109 thousand, which is about the same number in the same period of last year. Another thing that has seen quite an increase equal of 42% and 39%, is the big events such as Six Nations Rugby and League football respectively.
