One of the most famous persons in the world of poker is Mike Sexton. He has entered the Hall of Fame of poker in 2009 due to his participations in major contributions towards the game. Mike Sexton is known for being the announcer of the WSOP for the last ten tournaments.
Each summer he leaves his microphone and hits the tables as a player. His participation definitely paid off well as he has won a WSOP bracelet and a victory in the Tournament of Champions. So far, his wins amount up to more than three and a half million dollars since he started playing professional poker back in 1984.
When he was asked about his performance in the WSOP, he said that he is doing well because he have cashed 3 times so far. He is now on hiatus and he will be back after 4 days in time for the big events. He was also asked about his latest blog post when he told people on his blog to start being responsible and professional. He said that poker players who decide to play the game professionally have a responsibility to help the game and the industry.
People have to stop thinking about themselves and look to the big picture. As the players are the front of the industry and making it look good on T.V certainly help elevating the business.
Lastly, he was asked about the rule that the WSOP tried to apply during the final tables that obligated the players to talk about their actions at final tables. He said that it is not the players’ job to entertain. It is the announcers and the commentators’ role.
