EGBA has thanked the Parliament

The EGBA has thanked the Parliament for his continuous and positive efforts towards enhancing the internet gambling industry. This is due to the fact that the European parliament has set a meeting on the 27th of June to discuss the regulations of online gambling just after the release of the wish list by the EGBA concerning online gambling issues.

Special thanks were given to Michael Barnier the chief of the EC for his efforts to reignite the debates on internet gambling through his Green Paper consultation alongside his efforts in the launching of professional workshops that deal with the various problems of internet gambling. These thanks were carried out by Sigrid Ligne, the secretary general of the EGBA. It also shows the EGBA’s appreciation that the European parliament has decided to adopt the Creutzmann report which has tremendous effect on various dimensions of online gambling.

The wish list that was released by the EGBA included a few things. First of all, it asked for more lenience and cooperation between the members of the European states, especially when they are dealing with the regulation of internet gambling. This is due to the fact that what they have now is a set of duplicated controls and loopholes that doesn’t guarantee the ultimate security of the players.

The EGBA advises the European Parliament to issue a law that would state that all the EU state members should assist each other as much as they can. The ultimate wish and target of the EGBA is for all the internet gambling operators to have one single license all across Europe. This way it will be easier to regulate, monitor and control.
