Event 43 at WSOP

At event 43 at the WSOP which was a one thousand and five hundred dollar buy in No Limit Hold’em Poker, the professional poker player from Brooklyn Henry Lu achieved a great victory that secured him a total sum of 654,380 dollars. This is considered his highest payout during his 2 participations in the WSOP in Vegas. It also secured him his first WOSP bracelet.

Although he has won his first bracelet, but such win left the runner up in disappointment. The runner up was the professional poker player from London, Neil Channing who was trying to get his first WSOP bracelet as well but wasn’t able to. Neil Channing left the table with the second place prize that was equal 406,409 dollars. The thing that made the British player so frustrated is the fact that this final table was his 4th final table in the WSOP.  For instance, he was the runner up at last year’s 5000 $ buy in No Limit Hold’em shootout.

This year’s event had a total of 2768 players. On the course of three days the players battled it out until they reached a final table where Channing had the upper hand with a chip lead of 9:1. The two players kept switching the chip lead until Lu was able to dispatch his rival with 2 pairs that beat Channing’s hand of Ace-Jack with pocket fours on a Queen, three, two, King and three board.
