IOC and Olympic Games Fixing

The IOC has announced that it is one hundred percent certain that it will succeed in standing up against and preventing gangs that run illegal gambling who are planning to fix events at the Olympic Games of 2012.

The director for the International Olympic Committee, Christophe De Kepper has stated that his firm is working side by side with the British authorities in order to prevent any kind of event fixing from occurring at any of the sporting events. He also added that the experts in the gambling industry have stated that the Olympic Games are not a target for the match fixing gangs. This is due to the fact that it is a very big event and the risks to fix events are very high due to the heavy scrutiny.

Nonetheless, Christophe De Kepper stated that they will still treat this as a serious threat to prevent anyone who would take that risk to be prevented. One of the rules to be implemented to guarantee such thing, all the referees and the players at any Olympic events are prohibited from placing any bets or wagers on the games.

On the other hand, many UK bases bookmakers and shops have signed in to work by the side of the IOC in order to prevent any event fixing. This is why these bookmakers have signed to report any suspicious actions and wagers. This will hopefully prevent any kind of event fixing or manipulating during the Olympic Games of 2012.
