Las Vegas in the Rio, the WSOP

In Las Vegas in the Rio, the WSOP (World Series of Poker) is taking place. WSOP offers a wide variety of poker competition and events. It has been making these offers for more than 30 years since the 1970s.  This year’s WSOP holds something very unique as it is the first time a WSOP would include a live poker tournament. This tournament had a buy in of one million dollars which might seem as a lot but forty eight poker players paid that amount to join this unprecedented event. This resulted in a huge cash pool of forty eight million. This event got known as Big One for One Drop.

This live tournament needed 3 days to conclude and the poker professional Antonio Esfandiari came out on top and won the grand prize of the winner that was worth 18.3 million dollars. At first, he was not going to participate in this event as he was going to commentate for ESPN on the event which would be the safest way to make money out of the tournament without risking a million dollars. He joined the tournament because he suffered a loss in a smaller event and this lose made him eager to join this tournament.

Besides winning the 18.3 million, he was awarded the WOSP bracelet. For such a huge event, it couldn’t be a gold one as it was a platinum one. He gave it to his dad who came and hugged his son after winning the tournament.
