Gala Casino Acquisition completed by Rank

CanadaOnce approval was acquired from the Competition Commission business regulator a month ago for it’s proposal to purchase the UK land-based casino estate of rival Gala Coral Group Limited, they were able to release a statement saying that the acquisition was finished.

£179 million was spent by maidenhead-based Rank so that they could gain control of 19 bricks-and-mortar locations that are operated by Gala Casinos Limited within Great Britain along with the subsidiary’s three cold licenses added.

A statement from Rank was released saying that they are happy to announce that the terms in the revised acquisition agreement were met and that they were able to complete the Gala Casino Limited acquisition.

An interim management statement was also released by Rank, stating that its covering its financial performance for the weeks leading up to May 5 and showing that the revenues from operations continuing for this period has grown by two percent year-on-year albeit regular like-for-like revenue was dropped also by 2 percent.

This was all seen by Rank reporting a one percent year to year rise in total revenue in this same period while like for like revenue has fallen by three percent in comparison to this same time last year.

Additionally, Rank has claimed the 44 weeks to May 5 saw improvement in total revenues for year on year by five percent along with a improvement by three percent in like for like earnings with the same time in the last year.

Ian Burke, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Rank have been reported to have said that he is happy they have finished with acquiring Gala Casinos Limited.

He goes on to say that with the added 19 casinos it has created a market-leading situation for their Grosvenor Casinos brand that takes them on to eleven new UK markets.
