Bwin.Party, the company behind major online gambling brands like Party Poker and Party Casino has found itself in a pretty awkward situation in Switzerland. This happened after the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs has issued a statement that warned all residents of Switzerland and advised them against registering or playing at one of the Bwin.Party ran casinos, Swiss Casino.
The authorities also stated that the casino website in question has attempted deliberately to make the casino look as if it was a legal casino that is approved and regulated by the authorities while in fact, it is not. The casino has tried that by putting a large number of Swiss symbols all over the pages of the website like the Swiss coat of arms.
Besides the logos and the symbols, the SECO also mentioned that the casino has deliberately called the game Swiss Casino and using Swiss inspired slogans like Swiss Quality so it can mislead Swizz players into thinking that the casino is operated by a legal and a real company in Switzerland.
Of course, all of this is deception as according to the current regulations and laws in Switzerland, internet gambling is illegal. On the other hand, they don’t have the power to seek legal actions against the online gambling sites that operate from off shore locations, this is why all what they can do is warn the residents from such casinos that accept Swiss players.
