Just a few days following the great match that witnessed the Chicago Blackhawk grabbing the Stanley Cup of 2013, the Hockey League’s thirty teams made a few surprises when they made their NHL draft picks for this year. The Blackhawk of Chicago might have been the victors of the cup but the Avalanche from Colorado were the early victors in the 2013-14 race for the Stanley Cup. They picked Nova Scotian center player, Nathan MacKinnon who is 17 years old which was the 1st pick of the draft that took place on Sunday in the state of New Jersey in the Prudential Center.
The draft is all about the hockey teams that did not make it to the playoffs. This is why Aleksander Barkov was picked by the Florida Panthers at pick number 2. Tampa Bay Lightning picked Jonathan Drouin for pick number 3 while the Nashville predators picked Seth Jones for pick number 4.
Although the previous NHL season is barely over, William Hill is already releasing betting odds and wagering options on the Stanley Cup for 2013-14. This is no surprise as William Hill always offers its punters the best odds on all upcoming sporting events, including the NHL Cup. The odds include 6 to 1 for the Pittsburgh Penguins, 15 to 2 for the previous Stanley cup winners, Chicago Blackhawks and 10 to 1 for the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins. The first match will be held on the 5th of October, only 3 months from now and William Hill will offer plenty of pre game and in-game betting odds as usual.
