William Hill to Disband Two Operators of Gambling in Australia

William Hill is going to make some changes in the scene of gambling in Australia. This is a result of the announcement that was made by the online gambling operator that stated that it will scrap two of the biggest operators for gambling in Australia after William Hill has purchased them. These two brands are SportingBet and Tom Waterhouse. This is because the gambling operator is intending to merge all of its operations into one single brand, the William Hill brand.

In the previous months, William Hill has been planning and executing its plans to enter the Australian gambling market and it has done so by the acquisition of two gambling brands in Australia. It has acquired Sportingbet for a total of 459.4 million pounds. This take over deal was achieved due to a joint collaboration that included GVC Holdings and William Hill, with the latter taking over the Australian operations of the company. On the other hand, GVC Holdings will take over the operations of SportingBet in all other unregulated markets.

The decision will also include Miapuesta.es that was recently taken over by William Hill, which is an internet gambling brand in the Spanish Market. William Hill has exercised that call option when Miapuesta.es became under the control of GVC Holdings following the acquisition of SportingBet.
As for Tom Waterhouse, the Australian internet sporting betting operator, although it will not be disbanded on the spot, it will eventually. This is expected to happen in 2015 due to the terms of the takeover deal. This is why Tom Waterhouse will remain an independent brand until William Hill can merge it into its William Hill brand in Australia according to the conditions of the acquisition deal.

The decision to disband these brands and merge them into the William Hill unified brand still has to get the approval of the board of directors of William Hill. Although, the CEO of the company, Ralph Topping, explained that it is very likely that it will be approved.
