GTECH Canada ULC, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Italian firm GTECH S.p.A (formerly Lottomatica), was once again bestowed with the New Brunswick Export Award (Foreign-Owned Exporter Category), for its outstanding performance in the international marketplace. The government of New Brunswick (N.B.) recognizes the entrepreneurial expertise and continuing innovation of corporate entities located in New Brunswick, for their newest and continuing success in developing new markets in the region.
The N.B. Department of Economic Development presented the award last June 9 in Saint John, N.B. to GTECH and to five other winners selected by a panel of judges comprising members of the academe, private sector groups and selected government officials.
Don Doucet, GTECH’s VP of Business Strategy and Development voiced his company’s pride and appreciation for having received the award for the second consecutive occasion, because it highlights GTECH’s consistent success in the international market and underscores the company’s positive impact on New Brunswick’s economy. Mr. Doucet also acknowledged the excellence of all nominees for the six-category awards as they present proof of the Canadian province’s flourishing export industry, which creates jobs and provides fresh source of income for New Brunswick.
GTECH Canada was established in Moncton in 1990 and has since achieved majority of its growth from exporting a complete range of gaming products to various gaming sectors that include commercial casinos, interactive gaming facilities, sportsbetting operators, distributed government-backed markets and Amusement with Prize (AWP) venues. Year 2009 onward, GTECH started realizing nearly 96 percent of its sales from international trades, and by the end of 2013, export sales grew by as much as 296 percent.
