This year has been a very successful year for Canadians in the World Series of Poker as many Canadian players have won the gold in very important tables and events during the WSOP. During the last weekend, the 10th WSOP bracelet was added to the previous nine bracelets. This bracelet was added when the Canadian poker player from Ontario who is named Kristen Bicknell was able to come out on top of a field of 953 poker players in order to win the Ladies no limit Hold’Em poker championship and won the bracelet accompanied by the main prize that was equal 173,922 dollars. Thankfully, due to the buy in revision and the change of rules, there was no unpleasantness caused by male players who usually crashed the ladies event like the previous years.
The final table of the event had big names in the Ladies poker world such as Julie Mansacre, Connie Bruce, Shana Matthews, Chris Priday and Cindy Kerslake among other players. The last two remaining at the table were the winner, Kristen Bicknell and the Australian players, Leanne Haas. Leanne Haas succeeded in taking the check of the 2nd place winner that was equal 107,616 dollars.
Kristen Bicknell, the 26-years old poker player, is not a stranger to the World Series of Poker. Although she did not cash in the festival before or win a bracelet, she was always a regular player and she took part in more than fifteen tournaments over the previous years.
