CA Pop Star Bieber Calls off Fallsview Casino Stopover as Buddy was Denied Entry

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber was back in his native country last week, in which he and his entourage decided to spend their Saturday night, gambling at the Niagara Fallsview Casino. However, the group went as far as the casino entrance only, as the entire entourage decided to leave after one of Bieber’s companions was denied entry to the gambling establishment. It turned out that the latter failed to produce any form of identification document or ID, which the Fallsview security staff could use in determining his legal age.

Fallsview spokesperson, Greg Medulun, told the Toronto Sun that Bieber’s limo-riding group arrived at around midnight and lingered for about 10 minutes at a public space near the casino entrance. Although Bieber’s presence attracted some form of attention, there was none of the typical pop star-fan hysteria. Last Saturday would have been Justin Bieber’s first visit to Fallsview Casino but the young singer apparently preferred to forego his casino night out, rather than leave his ID-less companion out in the cold.

Under the regulations of Canada’s Gaming Control Act (GCA), casinos are required to first verify the photo ID of persons who appear to be under 25 years of age, before they are allowed entry through the casino doors. The purpose of which, is to ensure that only those who have been verified to be of legal gaming age will gain entry to the casino’s gaming floors.

Moreover, the GCA also requires casinos to verify a gambler’s government-issued ID photo as well as record all pertinent information indicated therein, before conducting any type of financial transaction with the gambling customer.
