Brazilian Series of Poker

Pokerstars has launched its latest series of poker in Brazil, the Brazilian Series of Poker. This release is obviously aiming to expand and take full advantage of the very lucrative South American gambling market. Pokerstars has spent these last few years trying to expand its reach and offer its services to more places around the world. On this last Wednesday, the internet gambling titan revealed that it will be sponsoring the Brazilian tour of poker.

This is a very smart choice as Brazil has over 75 million people who have internet access which is a very small percentage if compared to the total population of the country. This shows great potential for an expansion. The country has a well established gaming knowledge and culture.

The first of these sponsored poker events will be initiated in a couple of weeks. This event will be located in Sao Paulo. It has a main event that will start on the 26th of July and will last until the 31st of July. It will take place in the Holiday Inn.  The director of Live Operations in Latin America, David Carrion has stated that the company is aiming to increase the number of the participants by offering the chance to qualify on the internet without paying. This will lead to a significant increase the players of each tournament. The Brazilian Series of poker is also going to stop in Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza and Belo Horizonte among other places in Brazil as well.
