Casino in Pennsylvania Will Be Charging a $10 Cover Fee

onlinepokerA new Pennsylvania casino will be starting to charge a $10 cover fee as reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  The Nemacolin Woodlands Resort located in Fayette County with its $60 million Lady Luck Casino addition is under construction right now and will be unveiling gambling in July.  The owners and state regulators of this location have had to create a way to allow customers that are not staying at the hotel or visiting the property for an event not gambling related a chance to gamble, since the casino offers a category 3 gaming license.  This means that it cannot run like a regular brick-and-mortar casino like one you would think of in Vegas.

People that want to gamble here can also buy a $45 annual membership.  The rationalization behind this is that gambling is an amenity for this resort.  Not the main attraction or money making source.  As reported by the Post-Gazette, the Nemacolin “access plan” has similarity to the Valley Forge Casino Resort that is close to Philadelphia.

State regulators have reportedly given approval to Lady Luck’s table games plan this year.  The casino will have 28 table games and an additional slot machine selection.  Pennsylvania is the second most lucrative casino market in the country.  It takes in over $3.1 billion yearly.  Nevada is the top ranked in this area with around $10 billion annually.  After gambling business was legalized in Pennsylvania in 2004 the first casino opened in the state in 2007.
