Latest Casino Gambling Bill Makes Illinois Governor Happy

The latest gambling expansion proposal that is currently going through legislature makes the Illinois Governor, Pat Quinn happy.  Quinn has been stated to say that the new Senate bill is improved from past bills and there may be House effort in the case of gaming to improve it.

Quinn’s main concern is with overlooking new casinos to keep any shady activity out of the businesses.

The new proposed bill is reported to have to go through some revisions before they have any hope with the governor.  The other issue he has with it is the education funding.

Quinn is stated to say that assessing the taxes on casinos with structure and focus on revenue for education.  He feels most Illinois citizens will agree with him.

Quinn has vetoed similar gambling proposals before such as the one in August of last year where he was reported to say there was an absence of ethical standards.

It was also announced that internet gambling may be removed from the new bill after being briefly included on the expanded gambling bill.
