Online Gambling, Betting on Kate Middleton

Gamblers are being offered odds on the sex of the royal child, the baby of the Duke of Cambridge and the Duchess Kate Middleton. Players could place their bets and get the best odds at two of the biggest names in the gambling scene in the United Kingdom and in the world. These two names are William Hill and Ladbrokes. The royal family stated that they did not want to be told the sex of the baby which sparked the gambling frenzy.

The odds were normal but they were recently slashed because of a hint that was given by the Duchess, despite her denial. The odds that are offered to gamblers are 1 to 2 that the royal family will have a baby princess while the odds on a boy are equal 6 to 4.

The hint that was given by the 31 years old Duchess happened while she was accepting a teddy bear in Grimsby and she thanked the gift giver and said that she will give it to her “D…”, and corrected it and said her baby. This hint was overheard by Sandra cook, and she asked her if she meant daughter but the duchess denied and said that they do not know and that they are not telling. Although this is not a confirmed hint, it caused mayhem in the gambling industry in regards of the odds on the sex of the baby because it was interrupted that the Duchess meant daughter but quickly corrected what she said.

This is why Ladbrokes slashed the odds to the above-mentioned odds. Although this could hurt Ladbrokes if the baby turns out to be a boy, it seems they are pretty sure that the family will welcome a little princess.

As for William Hill, it did not slash the odds like Ladbrokes but instead, William Hill has suspended wagering on the topic following a barrage of new wagers. A spokesperson for William Hill stated that the story and the hint are not in any way conclusive but the new bets are starting to pile, which forced the online gambling operator to suspend all new bets. This suspension started on Tuesday at 10 pm.
