Playtech Hires New Head of Social Gaming Operations

Playtech, the online casino software developer has announced that it has hired the ex-CEO of Diwip, the social gaming firm, Dan Wiegenfeld. He is appointed as the head of the social gaming section of Playtech. Starting from this moment, Dan Wiegenfeld is going to be responsible for supervising all the B2C and B2B gaming operations of Playtech. He is also going to file his reports and answer directly to Shimon Akad, the VP of the venture’s operations. The CEO of Playtech, Mor Weizer has stated that he believes that Dan Wiegenfeld   is one of the very few talented people in the social gaming industry and this is why he was chosen.

The appointment of Dan Wiegenfeld is in line with the new strategy that Playtech is implementing for its social gaming operations. Playetch has made an announcement this previous year stating that it is going to invest 95 million Euros in social gaming operations. This announcement was quickly followed by Playtech’s acquisition of CTXM and Viaden Gaming, two software developers of social gaming.

Playtech has also inked a new deal with Teddy Sagi regarding to the licensing of the social casino platform that is developer by Skywind, another company that is owned by Sagi. Playtech is currently paying 6 million Euros per year in royalty fees plus twenty percent revenue share from its social gaming operations to Skywind
