William Hill, one of the biggest and most respected names in the sport betting and gambling industry in the UK and the world has entered a very lucrative deal with Monmouth Park, the well-known New Jersey racetrack. This deal comes right after major changes to the sports betting regulations in the Garden State. New Jersey is set to make great changes to the sports betting related laws. William Hill is the first sports betting firm to arrive and it is looking forward to get into Monmouth Park so it can provide wagering options at the racetrack.
William Hill is going to sponsor the one million dollar Haskell Invitational that is going to take place on the 28th of July of 2013. Such agreement is most likely going to turn into a long-term endorsement that includes William Hill and Monmouth Park. The CEO of Will Hill has stated that he is delighted from the prospect of a legalized sports wagering market in New Jersey. Until this legalization happens, William Hill is going to sponsor the Haskell Invitational.
Earlier this year, New Jersey has passed laws that would permit sports wagering within its state borders. These regulations were attacked by the big sports leagues including the NCAA and a federal judge decided to side with the leagues. The leagues are claiming that legalizing sports betting is going to damage the integrity of these sports. Before such legalization, no states in the USA had a legalized sports betting market. The final decision on the matter will be made on the 26th of June of 2013 by the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.
