Ladbrokes added a different kind of fun to its online betting site by challenging the mental agility of its mobile app users in relation to the brand of smartphone being used. The UK bookmaker selected one thousand individuals from the site’s list of mobile gambling app downloader, to participate in a promo quiz called “Test of Wits”.
However, the results do not necessarily represent scientific proof of a user’s smartness, as the assessments and assumptions do not follow those used for conventional IQ testing. Ladbroke’s “Test of Wits”, gauged pattern-recognition and problem solving abilities by measuring the length of time it took smartphone users to complete the seven teaser questions. Test-takers chose answers from a set of four choices and had the option to replace wrong answers with the right one, so they can move on and finish the test.
Actually, the quiz is simply one of those tools used for product comparisons by associating and comparing the users of popular brands that are currently in competition.
Although, the top individual scorer is a Samsung mobile app user who completed the test in a matter of 47 seconds, Ladbroke’s iPhone users topped the test results by clocking the best time at an average of 94 seconds.
Nexus users came second as top finisher by averaging 99 seconds, Samsung owners came in third at 103 seconds, while HTC and Nokia followed with an average of 105 and 109 seconds respectively. The tail ender to Ladbroke’s promotional quiz is the Blackberry group, as it took users an average time of 118 seconds to finish.
