Canadian Delegates Attack Anti Online Gambling US Laws

The Canadian delegates that went to the Masters of Gaming Law Spring Conference that took place in Windsor Canada has stated that the Anti online gaming laws of the United States are not only disrupting and hurting the online betting on the horse racing industry and the operations of the state lottery. This is because it is also hurting the Canadian ones as well.

The legislation in question is the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. It has been criticized widely because of the lack of precision and practicality. This is because it prohibits the monetary transactions with internet gambling firms and placing all of the burden on the already overworked monetary service firms to decide whether the transactions are legal or illegal. Experts also gave a lot of warnings that such assessments will have a negative impact to legitimate and legal internet betting companies and enterprises which triggered several complaints from numerous state lotteries.

One of the many state lotteries that criticized the Law of the US was Lottery of British Columbia. Constance Ladell, representing the Lottery stated that the biggest challenges that the lottery is facing are coming from the UIGEA and the southern borders, referring to the USA. She also stated that the firm has been impacted greatly from such actions the lack of action by the government is very concerning.

This is why the news that stated that Barney Frank, the Congressman is trying to overturn UIGEA, was welcomed with open arms by numerous delegates. These delegates are looking forward for a clearer solution for the complex legal situation concerning online gambling.  Constance Ladell said that it would be very helpful if Frank succeeds in achieving his goal. She said that she is very frustrated that the governments of North America are failing to take any positive or useful steps in order to properly regulate and license internet gambling.
